About Megumi Rooze Photography

Hello, I’m Megumi "Meg" Rooze, a photographer and storyteller who believes in capturing the moments that matter most. As a proud daughter of a U.S. Air Force father and an Okinawan mother, my upbringing took me around the world, spending much of my childhood in Okinawa and Korea. I’ve called Texas home since 2000, and now I’m a wife, mother to Naomi (14) and Nina (20), and part of a family that loves to spend time outdoors, especially fishing with my husband, Jason.

Photography has been a passion of mine since high school, and it led me to become a photojournalist for The Shorthorn at the University of Texas at Arlington. I studied both painting and photography, and my love for the art deepened during a trip to Italy in college. After graduation, I worked as a photojournalist for the Texarkana Gazette, and now I freelance for the Austin American-Statesman, covering the Pflugerville Pflag.

As a mom, I understand how fleeting each stage of childhood can be, which is why I focus on capturing the unique expressions and personalities of children so you can treasure them for years to come. I also understand how important your wedding day is—having been a bride myself, I know how every detail and every moment matters.

In addition to my photography, I’m also certified as a health and life insurance representative, as I believe in protecting the health and financial security of my clients. I’m here to help preserve not just your precious memories, but your peace of mind as well.
