Celebrating Family and New Beginnings | Austin In Home Maternity Session

There’s just something so special about photographing a maternity session at home. This sweet family welcomed me into their space in the Austin area, and the whole afternoon was filled with love, laughter, and the excitement of knowing a new little one is on the way.

We started with the sweetest moments between mom and her daughter. Big sister-to-be wrapped her arms around her mom’s belly with the happiest little grin. You could see in her eyes just how ready she is to love her baby sibling. Those hugs and that joy were completely unprompted and made my heart melt.

Then dad joined in and the energy got even sweeter. He leaned in to kiss mom’s belly while their daughter snuggled close too. The three of them together created such a beautiful picture of love and connection. These are the kinds of moments that just can’t be staged—they’re the ones that happen naturally when a family is so excited to welcome someone new.

One of my favorite images from the day was when mom stood by the big window in her home. The soft natural light wrapped around her in the most beautiful way. With her hands resting on her belly and her bare feet on the wooden floor, she looked so peaceful and strong. It’s the kind of simple, quiet moment that speaks volumes about the beauty of motherhood.

In home sessions are always some of my favorites. They feel personal and meaningful, capturing real life in the spaces where families make their memories every day. This Austin maternity session was such a joyful reminder that the most powerful photos don’t need much more than soft window light, a little laughter, and a whole lot of love.
