RJ’s Senior Pictures: Wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu, and Skateboarding

One of my favorite things about senior photography is capturing what makes each student truly unique. RJ’s senior session was the perfect example of that. He’s not only a wrestler, but also trains in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and loves skateboarding—so naturally, we had to bring all of that personality and passion into his photos.

We started with his medals, which represent the countless hours of dedication and discipline he’s poured into wrestling and jiu-jitsu. Those shots felt powerful, highlighting his accomplishments and determination. From there, we switched gears and headed out to capture him in his element on the skateboard. RJ’s energy and skill made for some really fun action shots, and I loved seeing his personality come through in every frame.

What made this shoot extra special was the balance—it wasn’t just about documenting sports or hobbies, but about celebrating who RJ is at this exciting time in his life. Senior year is a milestone, and these photos tell the story of where he’s been and where he’s headed next.
